Toofan Salafzoon (born in 1984) is a retired Iranian kickboxer. He began training in kickboxing at the age of 9. He quickly established himself as a top competitor in the Iranian kickboxing scene . He won several national and regional titles and represented Iran in international competitions.

He was Iran’s first professional kickboxing medalist and was recognized as one of the top amateur kickboxers in the world.

 He transitioned to professional kickboxing in 2009 and established himself as a top competitor in the sport. Despite facing several obstacles, such as injuries, lack of facilities and unkindness, he overcame them and achieved success in his sport. He retired from kickboxing in 2015, and his career is considered one of the most significant in Iranian kickboxing history.

 After retiring from kickboxing, Toofan Salafzoon decided to use his wealth of knowledge and experience to help others achieve their fitness goals.

He began coaching and mentoring aspiring fitness models, using the techniques and training methods he had developed during his own athletic career.

He went on to win several national and regional titles. In 2007, he got ready for the European and Asian championships, thanks to his unwavering commitment and extremely strenuous training. He came away with two prestigious medals, a bronze in colour, as a result of his efforts.

Toofan’s success in the amateur ranks led to him being selected to represent Iran in international competitions. He competed in several major tournaments and championships, such as the European and Asian championships, where he faced some top kickboxers worldwide.

In 2008, Toofan shone brightly once more; he successfully won the gold medal at the World Martial Arts Festival in Tehran 2008. Toofan’s successes in the amateur ranks led to him being recognized as one of the top amateur kickboxers in the world, and his name became synonymous with the sport in Iran.

Professional career:

Toofan Salafzoon’s success in the amateur ranks led him to transition to professional kickboxing in 2009. He was already well-known in the kickboxing community and had established a reputation as a talented and dedicated athlete.

Toofan began his professional career with numerous impressive performances and quickly established himself as a top competitor in the sport. He competed in several major professional tournaments and championships, such as the K-1 world max 2009, where he faced some of the top professional kickboxers from around the world.

During this portion of the competition, the Toofan of the year also struck the well-known champion back then and today, the Ukrainian Arthur Kishing Coy. Toofan’s debut in the world of professional competition came from this highly challenging bout. Toofan Sour Azoon had an outstanding performance in the first round of this tough competition, and he was entirely superior to his opponent.

However, due to severe weight loss, which caused him to experience a 10-kilogram weight loss in 17 days, this weight loss eventually caused him to lose the match. Because of the severe weather, the year-plus Toofan could not win the second and third rounds.

His 2011 participation in a significant Muay Thai toyota cup was the first time an Iranian had ever competed in the sport.

And in one bout, he knocked out the Brazilian champion by having him fall on Toofan’s face, tearing off the boxer’s left eyelid in the process. Then toofan faced up against Super Benjamak, the world’s greatest Muay Thai champion, and knocked him out in the first round. The doctor also called time on the game in the second round because the player’s left eye was bleeding so much that he could no longer see.

Toofan’s professional career was marked by his incredible skill, dedication, and perseverance. He faced many challenges and obstacles during his professional career. Still, he was always able to overcome them and achieve success. Toofan Salafzoon was a true warrior in the ring. His name will always be remembered as one of the greatest kickboxers in Iranian history.

Injury and recovery:

Toofan Salafzoon sustained an injury during a match in 2009 at the World Amateur Championships in Spain. The injury occurred during the quarterfinals of the tournament, where he was able to defeat the legendary Ukrainian champion in the quarterfinals of the tournament for the last three consecutive years. In that match, the Ukrainian opponent fainted after the knockout and fell on the Toofan on the side of the ring.

 The Toofan, who could not keep his balance, was on the side of the rope of the ring and was thrown out of the ring, during which the right hand found himself stuck in the middle of the rope, which caused him to dislocate his shoulder blade.

This injury prevented him from competing in the tournament finals. It resulted in him getting third place in the world amateur competition. Toofan did not give up despite the injury and underwent a rigorous rehabilitation process to recover from the injury. He received treatment from the medical staff and exceptional doctors, and with their help, he could return to the ring.

Toofan’s injury and recovery are a testament to his dedication and perseverance. Despite facing a significant setback, he overcame it and returned to the sport he loved. His injury recovery process shows that even the best athletes are not immune to injuries. Still, with hard work and determination, they can come back stronger.
